Understanding the Tract inbox view
Getting to know your way around the inbox.
How the inbox works
The Tract inbox displays all the emails from your connected account — the same emails you'd see in Gmail or Outlook, just inside Tract. The key difference is the deal column on the right side of each email row.
The deal column
Every email in your inbox shows which deal it's linked to on the right side of the row. Emails that haven't been linked yet show as unlinked. Linking is what turns a standard email into part of your deal record.
Reading and replying
Open any email to read the full thread. Reply and forward work exactly as they do in your standard inbox. Any email you send from inside Tract is sent from your connected account — recipients see your normal email address, nothing changes on their end.
The right panel
When you open an email thread, the right panel surfaces deal context for that email — the linked deal, upcoming deadlines, smart action suggestions, and quick access to deal contacts and documents. If the email isn't linked to a deal yet, the right panel will suggest one based on the email content.
Composing
Hit Compose to start a new email. While composing, type / to instantly access deal context — contacts, documents, and timeline milestones linked to any of your active deals. Insert them directly into your email without switching tabs.
