Email & Linking

Linking an email to a deal

What linking does

Linking is the core action in Tract. When you link an email to a deal, Tract connects that email to the deal's record — so everything related to that transaction stays together in one place. Once an email is linked it appears in the deal's email list, the deal tag shows on the email row in your inbox, and the email becomes part of the deal's history. From there you can save attached documents to the document center, add dates to the deal timeline, and save contacts to the deal's people — all without leaving the thread. Linking is what makes the deal page possible. The more emails you link, the more complete the record becomes.

  1. Open any email thread in your Tract inbox

  2. Look at the right panel — if Tract has detected a likely deal, it will suggest one automatically or you can select link a deal from the quick actions

  3. Click Link to Deal to confirm the suggestion, or select a different deal from the dropdown

  4. The email is now linked and will appear in the deal's email list

Linking from inbox

  4. Select the desired deal

Linking email limitations

There's no limit to how many emails you can link to a single deal. Link every relevant email as it comes in — the more you link, the more complete the deal record becomes.
