Deals
What is a deal?
Understanding deal structure in Tract
The core concept
A deal is the foundation of how Tract works. Everything in Tract — your emails, documents, deadlines, and contacts — gets organized around deals. Think of a deal as a living record for a single property or transaction. It exists to answer one question at any moment: what is everything I know about this transaction?
In a standard inbox, information about a property is scattered — the inspection report arrived in one email, the closing date is buried in another thread, the seller's agent contact is somewhere in your sent folder. A deal in Tract pulls all of that together into one place, organized around the property rather than the date things arrived.
What a deal contains
Every email linked to that transaction
All documents filed from those emails
Key dates and milestones on the deal timeline
Contacts involved in the transaction
Notes you've added along the way
A full activity log of everything that's happened
When to create a deal
Create a deal as soon as you start receiving emails about a property. The earlier you create it, the more complete the record becomes. You can create a deal for any active transaction — a listing, a purchase, a closing, or even an early-stage lead.
