How documents work in Tract
Documents in Tract are organized around deals rather than folders or file types. When you save a document to a deal it becomes part of that deal's record — accessible from the document center, visible on the deal page, and findable in seconds without searching your inbox or Downloads folder.
Documents don't move to Tract automatically. When you link an email that has attachments, those attachments become available to save to the deal. You decide what gets filed and where it goes.
Saving a document from an email
Open an email thread that has an attachment
Link the email to the correct deal if you haven't already
Hover the attachment to expose a 3 dot menu
Click Save to Deal to file it
The document is now part of that deal's record
What gets saved
Any file attached to a linked email can be saved to a deal — PDFs, Word documents, images, and any other file type. The document keeps its original name and can be renamed after saving if needed.
Why filing matters
A document saved to a deal is findable in two clicks — open the deal, open the Documents tab. No searching your inbox for the email it came in on. No hunting your Downloads folder. Just the document, right where the deal is.
