When to unlink

If you linked an email to the wrong deal, or linked an email that doesn't actually belong to a transaction, you can unlink it at any time. Unlinking removes the email from the deal's record without deleting the email from your inbox.

How to unlink an email

1. Open the email thread

2. In the right panel, click the deal tag showing the currently linked deal

3. Select Unlink from the options that appear

4. Confirm — the email is removed from the deal record

What happens when you unlink

• The deal tag is removed from the email row in your inbox

• The email is removed from the deal's activity feed

• Documents that were filed from that email remain in the document center — remove them manually from the Documents tab if needed

• Dates that were surfaced from that email remain on the timeline — remove them manually if needed

Relinking to a different deal

After unlinking you can immediately link the email to a different deal. Open the email, click Link to Deal in the right panel, and select the correct deal. The email moves to the new deal's record.
