Adding events
What events are
Events are the key dates in a transaction — inspection appointments, appraisal dates, contingency deadlines, walkthrough dates, and closing day. Adding them to a deal keeps every important date visible on both the deal page and the deal calendar.
How to add an event
Open the deal you want to add an event to
Click the Activity tab
Find the Timeline section on the left side
Click Add
Enter the event name, date, and time if applicable
Save
The event appears immediately on the deal timeline and on the deal calendar.
Adding an event from the calendar
Open the calendar from the left sidebar
Click any date on the calendar
Select the deal the event belongs to
Enter the event name and time
Save
Adding an event from an email
When you link an email to a deal, Tract may detect a date mentioned in the email body and surface it as a suggested event. A suggestion card appears in the right panel of the email thread showing the detected date and a suggested name. You can confirm it as-is, edit the name or date before confirming, or dismiss it if it isn't relevant. Nothing is added to your calendar without your approval.
If no suggestion appears for an email that contains a relevant date, add the event manually using either method above.
Editing an event
Click any event on the deal timeline or calendar to edit the name, date, or time. Changes are reflected immediately in both places.
Deleting an event
Click the event and select Delete. The event is removed from the timeline and the calendar immediately. This can't be undone.
Completed events
When an event date has passed it moves to the completed section at the bottom of the deal timeline. Click Show Completed to see the full history of past dates for that deal.
